This sweet , creamy , nutty dessert is a special dish to us as it always brings back memories of years living in the Middle East. Recipe inspired by my Bahraini friends family. Happy Friday!!
Ingredients:
-1 litre of milk
- 2 tubs of double of cream
- 1 cup of white sugar
- Frozen Puff pastry , thawed
- 1/4 pistachio nuts chopped
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup silvered almonds
Method:
1. Pre heat the oven to 180C.
2. Roll out the puff pastry and pop into the oven for 15 minutes until golden brown. Once ready break up the puff pastry into pieces and place into a large bowl. Then add the raisins, almonds and pistachio nuts and toss all together until mixed well. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and spread evenly.
3. Now add the milk, cream, sugar and vanilla essence into a medium saucepan and heat (medium heat) until hot but not boiling. Pour the mixture into the baking dish.
4. Put into the oven for 15 to 20 minutes. To brown the top a little , pop under the broil for 2 to 3 minutes. Let it cool slightly before serving. ENJOY!!!XXX
