Triple chocolate , caramel, toasted macadamia, orange brownies

The combination of the orange zest with the 3 chocolates (dark, milk ,white) and macadamia nuts works so well together. I don’t think you can ever go wrong with chocolate, fruit and nuts!

Ingredients:

- 250g milk chocolate

- 200g unsalted butter

- 3 eggs

- handful of macadamia pieces

- 75g plain flour

- 250g brown sugar

- 100g white chocolate

- 100g dark chocolate

- 100g milk chocolate

- 1 orange zest and juice

- 397g sweetened condensed milk

- 90g unsalted butter

Method:
  1. Grease and line a square baking tray. Pre heat the oven to 180C.

  2. In a medium size heat proof bowl, melt the chocolate and butter over a pan of simmering water .

  3. Then whisk the eggs and sugar together until fluffy. Then add the melted chocolate and fold gently into the egg and sugar mixture.

  4. Add sifted flour. Fold the mixture. Then add your chopped chocolates , orange zest , juice and toasted macadamia . Mix well.

  5. Pour the brownie mixture into the baking tray and level.

  6. Bake for 30 minutes.

  7. If the centre of the brownies no longer wobbles, then they are ready. If you like your brownies super duper gooey then bake them for less time. Check the centre with a toothpick. If it comes out with mixture, then you have your very gooey brownie texure.

  8. Remove from the tin and allow to cool.

  9. Make your caramel sauce. Place a pan on a medium heat. Add the condensed milk and butter . Bring it to the boil, it should start turning into light brown colour. Then turn down the heat ( you don’t want it to burn underneath and form bitter taste). Keep stirring the sauce , so it doesn’t stick at the bottom.

  10. Once cooled , cut up the brownies into square and dollop a good amount of caramel sauce on top of your brownie. I’ve sprinkled with rose petals for decoration but you can use orange zest or even macadamia nuts ! ENJOY! XX
