Miso black cod with Gomaae broccoli

Fancy trying cod but not actually cod? Really quite different to cod, very buttery and sumptuous. It is a sablefish from a Nobu recipe but I added my own little touches. The broccoli is another Japanese inspired recipe called Gomaae but usually using spinach.

Ingredients:

For the miso marinade:

-2 fillets sablefish

-3 Tbsp white miso

-1/2 Tbsp mirin

-1/2Tbsp rice vinegar

For the gomaae broccoli:

-200g tender stem broccoli

-pinch sea salt

-2 Tbsp toasted white sesame seeds

-1 Tbsp soy sauce

-1 Tbsp sugar

Method:

1. For the fish, mix the marinade ingredients together then use to coat fish and refrigerate in an airtight container. Leave it to marinate for 1 or 2 days. I left mine for 2 days.

2. When ready to cook remove the fish from the fridge and wipe some of the excess marinade off with your fingers before placing the fish on a lined tray. Cook the fish on 180C fan for 20 minutes.

3. For the gomaae broccoli, mix the toasted sesame seeds with the soy sauce and sugar to form the dressing. Boil the broccoli for 2 minutes with a pinch of salt then plunge in cold water to stop the cooking process. Once cooled drain and pat dry.

4. Mix the broccoli and sauce together. ENJOY!! XXX
