Messy Turkish delight chocolate brownies with a drizzle of Turkish delight syrup. If you want to gain "brownie" points with your older siblings then bake them so chocolate brownies and add their favourite sweet (my brothers fave). I made the Turkish delight myself by using BBC food recipe. You don't have to, you could always use Turkish delight bars.
Ingredients
-150g good quality chocolate ( I used Cadburys as I didn't have any dark chocolate)
- 3 eggs
- 275g caster sugar
- 170g unsalted butter
- 150g plain flour
- Turkish delight syrup or you can use 3 or 4 turkish delight bars
- 150g good quality chocolate ( I used Cadburys as I didnt have any dark chocolate)
- 30g cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
Method:
1. Pre heat oven to 180C. Line a square baking tin with baking paper with the side hanging over so its easier to take the brownies out.
2. Melt the chocolate and butter either in a microwave (or if you dont have a microwave like me haha, in a bowl over a pan of simmering water, making sure the water doesnt touch the bowl). Stir then leave to cool.
3. Whisk eggs and sugar in a bowl until creamy. Pour the chocolate/butter into the bowl, whisking slowly so the eggs dont scramble with the warm chocolate.
4. Once the mixture is fully mixed, add the dry ingredients. Sieve them over the mixture, then using a wooden spoon fold them into the mixture gently.
5. Pour the mixture into the baking tray, smoothing it out with a palette knife. I drizzled the Turkish delight syrup over the brownies into swirls (optional). Add the Turkish delight sweet (in chunks) into the mixture and push them gently. Place the tray into the oven. Bake for 25 minutes.
6. Leave to cool in the tray. Lift brownies out, cut into sqaures and serve. ENJOY!!XXX
